Questions
We are looking for new cool tapes.
There are two ways to do it. You can become a member of the site and post your own images of tapes. These don’t have to be great images. It’s the thought that counts. All these types of posts will go right into the Our Cool Tapes category. The second way is outlined below.
Sure, we have boxes of tapes, but we want you to share yours with us. Participation is easy and rewarding beyond your wildest expectations. You will need some technical know how because we don’t accept actual tapes. Well, I should say, if you want to send a physical tape to us, you may do so, but you are going to have to email us first to find out where to send it to.
Step One:
Find your tapes.
Step Two:
Use a scanner connected to a computer to create an image of your tape. Please make your scans 150 DPI or higher. You may scan the case and liner notes too if you wish. If you don’t have the tape because it is long gone, you can still upload the story and we can place your story in the Lost Tapes category. Don’t worry about cropping it down. We will take care of it for you.
Step Three:
Write something about your tape. You can paste it right into our upload text field or put it in a file to upload. Put your site URL in there too if you have one. We will link to you in the credit at the end of the post we create for you. Also, use the check boxes to provide details about the condition of your cassette.
Step Four:
Upload your stuff. If you are smart, you can zip the files together and upload it on our uploads page. You can also upload the files one at a time.
The Other Way:
You can also just snap a photo of your tape, doodle a picture of it, or just submit an epic tape tale in the Our Tapes section of the site. Super easy, and super awesome. All you have to do is create a user account for yourself.
